Chromium 2016 Review

The Annual Conference of the International Chrome Development Association (ICDA) was held in Shanghai from 08 to 10 November, with more than 170 delegates.

The programme gave a complete overview of the chromium markets and included an entertaining keynote address by Shaun Rein, who invited delegates to rethink their position on China and to change their mind set to improve their understanding of this key market.

The Conference sessions included an in-depth analysis of the markets, with analyst Loic Racon giving the latest economic figures and trends as the chromium market enters a recovery mode.

Other presentations focused on LME perspectives and on China’s goal to produce its own ferrochrome.

The conference was presented with a number of  practical cases by Markus Moll, who moderated the stainless steel discussion panel.

ICDA reinforced its position as the voice of the chromium industry by having all sectors represented in the programme from mining to ferrochrome, chrome chemicals and metal and stainless steel!

The conference offered networking opportunities in a friendly atmosphere during the evening functions.
