The next International Nickel Study Group (INSG) Meetings will be held at the INSG Headquarters in Lisbon, Portugal, on 20 and 21 April 2026. Organised as part of the Study Group’s mandate to provide a global forum for dialogue between governments and industry, the meetings will bring together representatives from across the upstream and downstream nickel sectors to discuss key market, statistical, economic and environmental issues.

The meetings will comprise four sessions: the Statistics Committee, Industry Advisory Panel, Environment & Economics Committee, and the Standing Committee, and will feature presentations from invited speakers as well as a comprehensive discussion of the short-term nickel market forecast. In addition, a Joint Study Groups’ Seminar, held jointly with the International Lead & Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) and the International Copper Study Group (ICSG), on “The Availability, Affordability and Adequacy of Energy for Mining and Metals” will take place on 22 April 2026, alongside meetings of the other Study Groups during the same week.

All INSG meetings are private and open only to government and industry representatives from member countries. Non-member countries with significant interests in nickel are occasionally invited to observe INSG meetings in order to encourage them to join. Permanent industry association observers and invited observing organizations may also attend.
