INASSDA Hosts Its First-Ever INDONESIA Stainless Steel Summit 2025

Jakarta, October 21, 2025, Indonesia marked a significant milestone in its industrial journey with the very first Indonesia Stainless Steel Summit 2025, held today in Jakarta. The landmark event brought together around 100 participants from across the stainless steel value chain, government institutions, academia, and international organizations to discuss the nation’s path toward becoming a global stainless steel hub.
Organized by the Indonesian Stainless Steel Development Association (INASSDA) and supported by the Nickel Institute (NI) and the International Molybdenum Association (IMOA), the summit featured an impressive lineup of speakers representing the National Economic Council (DEN), Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Industry, Morowali Metal Industry Polytechnic, Shanghai Metal Market, Kerbal and Mrs Catherine Houska who was sponsored by IMOA and the Nickel Institute.
The conference covered a broad range of strategic and technical topics under Indonesia’s Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision, including:

Speakers highlighted Indonesia’s growing role as a global producer and exporter of stainless steel, emphasizing the need for sustainable development, innovation in down-streaming, and international cooperation. The event concluded with calls for stronger collaboration among stakeholders to advance Indonesia’s competitiveness in stainless steel and to align industrial growth with global sustainability goals.
