Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
Ensure access to water and sanitation for all
One in three people live without sanitation. This is causing unnecessary disease and death. Although huge strides have been made with access to clean drinking water, lack of sanitation is undermining these advances. If we provide affordable equipment and education in hygiene practices, we can stop this senseless suffering and loss of life.
Stainless steel’s contribution
Water is essential to life, yet by 2040 almost three billion people will face water scarcity.
Stainless steel plays a key role in almost every element of delivering safe, clean drinking water. From its use in desalination plants, to service pipework and wastewater treatment plants, stainless steel offers a long-lasting, sustainable solution ensuring an infrastructure that provides clean water while minimizing water loss. It is the ideal material because it is:
- Low maintenance
- Corrosion resistant
- Strong
- Ductile
- Inert
Stainless steel - the sustainable solution to delivering safe, clean drinking water.
